Chicago is “My Kind of Town” as the very famous song goes. On the magnificent Lake Michigan. Friends of mine from California that visited for the first time were shocked at the size of the lake and our amazing sky line. Add to all of this the Chicago River which hosts many outdoor cafes and Architectural Boat Tour where you can see things that can not be viewed from anywhere else. Our river is also famous for the 1887 reversal of its flow. An absolute engineering feat which kept sewage from flowing in to Lake Michigan. There is so much to see here with all of our museums and the famed Shedd Aquarium. Navy pier with all of the lake front activities. Millenium Park and it’s concerts. Grant Park is another great place.
2nd City?
Chicago may be considered 2nd city……what ever! How ever we still have the nicest people, amazing food, best pizza and of course Michigan Avenue which is nicknamed The Magnifacent for amazing shopping and beautiful street scapes. Oh and we have alleys for rubbish collection unlike NYC with garbage bags out on the front side walks!
